Turning Deer Ears
Once the skin has been removed from the skull make a small cut between the ear cartilage and the ear skin behind the middle part of the ear. This cut should be large and deep enough to insert the tip of the ear opening pliers.
Once the plier tips have open a small pocket between the cartilage and the skin, then use the left hand around the tips of the pliers to feel your way through the rest of the ear. Use light pressure towards the edge and tip of the ears. They should separate fairly easy at this point.
When completely separated, invert the ear and carefully work any edges still attached.
Now it is time to peel the cartilage from the inner skin
